Training pastors in Peru
Mike and Kerry, with their daughter Megan, are living in the city of Arequipa in the southern Andes of Peru and serving with SIM. For many church pastors and leaders outside the urban centres of Peru, it is difficult to access training for Christian ministry. A combination of obstacles works against them: distance, poverty and lack of transport. Besides, how would they be able to work their farms and provide for their families if they went to the city for training? So, we are developing ways to take the training to them because healthy churches need servants trained in God’s Word. With God’s help we have also started a social group for people with disabilities and their families. This group aims to give attendees support and share the Christian hope with them.
