Home Church: Grace Christian Church – Redbank Plains

Organisation: OMF

David and Wendy have been OMF missionaries in Japan since 2000. They are both involved in the support of missionaries in Japan. Since 2005, David has worked at the Christian Academy in Japan, a K-to-12 international school in Tokyo. David is a maths and science teacher, and an administrator at the school that supports missionaries by educating their children. In 2017 he took on the role of director of teaching and learning that includes overseeing curriculum and professional development, and membership in the leadership team of the school.

Wendy is an editor and writer. She is the managing editor of a quarterly magazine (Japan Harvest) written by and for missionaries. Wendy has been a key part of OMF Japan’s mobilisation strategy and leads a team that uses social media to spread the word around the world that Japanese people need to hear about Jesus. Wendy was one of three editors for the booklet: Beneath the Surface: 30 ways to pray for Japan, published in 2020. She also blogs regularly about missionary life at www.mmuser.blogspot.com.au and loves to facilitate writers’ workshops.

David and Wendy have three young adult sons, Callum, Douglas, and Jamie, who all live in Queensland.

Pray for David and Wendy

  • That their ministries would enable many more missionaries to come and remain in Japan for the long term.
  • Wisdom for them to balance their various roles and responsibilities.
  • For the Christian Academy in Japan, that the school would glorify God in all it does and make an impact for Christ in Japan and throughout the world.
  • For OMF Japan as they continue to seek God’s leading in how and where they minister in Japan.
  • For their sons, that they would follow God with all their hearts.
